Charles Banks and business partner Stanley Kroenke, perhaps best known for Screaming Eagle, own this 600-acre winery north of Santa Barbara in the hill-filled town of Buellton. Winemaker Matt Dees produces wines like La Flor de Jonata (the flower of the live oak), made using Sauvignon Blanc grapes; La Sangre de Jonata (the blood of the live oak), crafted from Syrah; and La Fuerza de Jonata (the power of the live oak), focusing on Petit Verdot grapes. Private tastings are available by appointment, and Jonata sells bottles both online and via retail.
