Take a tour of Grythyttan Vin, located in the rural northwest about three hours from Stockholm. The winery, started in 1999 by the Fritzell Brothers, produces both fruit and mulled wines and fruit vinegars—all from wild plants. Popular in Stockholm restaurants, the cloudberry wine is made from handpicked berries that are fermented in steel tanks for 10-15 months; the color is a deep gold, the taste is of apricots and figs, and it pairs well with cheese, nuts, desserts, and fruits. Other products include wines made with lingonberries, birch sap, wild berries, mulling spices, and cloudberry vinegar (sold in IKEA stores).
