Within the framework of what was once Larkmead Winery -- originally built in 1884 and now listed among the National Register of Historical Places -- Frank Family vineyards commenced operations in 1992 in Calistoga. Rich Frank, an entertainment guru who held executive positions at Disney, Paramount Television, and the USA Network, reserved the integrity of this multi-unit space. The tasting room, for example, is reminiscent of a country cottage, with a yellow-painted wooden exterior, expansive front porch, and brick-lined fireplace. Once inside, three different rooms denote the separation of sparkling, white, and red wines that guests try throughout progressive tastings.
