Metro del Mare
To avoid one of Italy’s most dangerous, curvy, congested roads along the jagged Amalfi coastline during the summer months, this regularly scheduled ferry service connects 13 towns from Naples to Sapri. Travel times are significantly shorter than the land-based busses, but cost much more—up to 20 euros for the longest trips. Favorite stops for tourists include the ancient Greek ruins of Paestum and the beaches of Santa Maria di Castellabate, but bring enough supplies to last several hours because trips run just a few times per day.
