Disney's Animal Kingdom

Wild animals of every stripe can be seen here, in regionally themed habitats that are scattered across the park. There's the Pangani Forest habitat, for instance, home to gorillas, hippos, and African birds; and a Maharajah Jungle habitat with tigers, bats, and Komodo dragons. The hugely popular Kilimanjaro Safaris tour passes through a manufactured veldt that's home to absolutely real giraffes, lions, and rhinos. Though rides aren't the big draw here, thrill-seekers will get a pretty good adrenaline high from the elaborate Expedition Everest coaster.

Tip: Arrive early in the morning, when the weather's coolest and many of the animals are at their most active.
