52nd Street Project
The 52nd Street Project was founded by actor/playwright Willie Reale in 1981 with the aim of improving the lives of the children living in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. The project focuses on creating and producing plays for children between the ages of nine and eighteen and using those plays as vehicles to foster the children’s self-esteem and sense of worth. In addition to productions in its own Five Angels Theater, the 52nd Street Project offers children access to special theater programs and even offers homework help and scholarships.
