This West Maui shooting range hosts open shooting times, as well as competitions, safety classes, and role-playing shooting games. Shooting in the IPSC competition format started in the Western US in the mid 20th-century. Gun enthusiasts compete with handguns, shotguns, air guns, and rifles, firing at targets that are usually at close range. Targets may move, obstacles can come into play, and for the cowboy at heart, the Single Action Shooting Society promotes a cowboy-style shooting competition; participants dress in costume, adopt a Wild West moniker, and use old-style guns.
