Jacques Torres Chocolate, Brooklyn
Established in 2000 in Brooklyn, Jacques Torres Chocolate makes bonbons, chocolate chip cookies, and hot chocolate. This real-life chocolate factory, located in the DUMBO area of Brooklyn, has marble café tables, an eat-at bar, and brightly colored walls lined with treats. Confections include a coffee-infused chocolate bar, the Dangerously Dark bar with 72 percent cocoa content, and chocolate-covered cereal. The Wicked Pecan Brittle is a pecan-toffee brittle spiced up with ancho and chipotle chiles before being drizzled with dark chocolate. The success of the original DUMBO location paved the way for Torres and his partner to open several more locations around New York.
