Zabar’s, the iconic New York City gourmet emporium, was founded in 1934 by Louis and Lillian Zabar. Based on Louis Zabar’s philosophy of selling the highest quality merchandise at fair prices, the store has developed a loyal following and has become a New York institution. Shoppers will find everything from fresh roasted coffee and gourmet cheese to smoked fish and cookware in the 20,000-square-foot store. Zabar’s is open 365 days a year and sells a line of its own food products, as well as souvenirs emblazoned with its famous orange logo.
