Known for its homemade American-style cupcakes, Violet sells its sweet treats every Saturday at Broadway Market. The moist chocolate and vanilla sponge cakes are made with organic ingredients and then topped with seasonal buttercream icing. Opened in 2005 by Californian Claire Ptak, the shop offers expected flavors such as Valrhona chocolate, coconut milk, and vanilla bean alongside more creative options like elderflower, rhubarb, and the signature candied violet. In addition to cupcakes, the shop sells coconut macaroons, cookies, and cakes, all of which are displayed on vintage plates and stands. In 2010, Ptak opened a standalone café on Wilton Way.
