Even the sign that hangs out from the Recchiuti Confections storefront in the Ferry Building Marketplace along Embarcadero is a glossy chocolate color. Inside, chocolates and other products are displayed against walls. Confectioner Michael Recchiuti crafts handmade confections with European techniques and draws from favorite artworks for inspiration. Flavors include Kona coffee, lemon verbena, rose caramel, spring jasmine tea, tarragon grapefruit, and cardamom nougat. The bestsellers include the 88-piece platinum collection, the 20-piece pates de fruits, the 12-piece sliced-fruit-and-chocolate key lime pears, and Michael Recchiuti’s James Beard-nominated book Chocolate Obsession.
