About 30 miles northwest of Houston, Matt Family Orchard has 40 acres planted with blueberries, blackberries, figs, Asian pears, and persimmons, all of which are available for picking. In addition to fresh produce, the orchard sells potted berry bushes and locally made products like honey and fresh preserves. The grounds also include picnic facilities; a playground with volleyball and tetherball; designated bow-hunting areas; and a variety of wildlife, such as rabbits, foxes, and white-tailed deer. Orchard events include year-round guided tours with hayrides and campfires, as well as an annual Harvest Festival with a pumpkin patch.
