This hip London bookstore was founded by Marc Valli and the one-name Montse, who sought to improve the city’s bookstore scene. The artsy shop began in Covent Garden in 2000, with an inventory largely composed of art, graphic design and photography books. Since then, the store has expanded, adding two more outposts, one on Clerkenwell Road and the other in Manchester. The inventory has expanded as well and now includes everything from T-shirts and posters to jewelry and stationery. Magma’s alternative vibe has earned it a reputation as one of London’s most unique shopping destinations.
