It's hard to say what's most compelling about Installations: the array of merchandise (a 200-plus-year range described by owners Becki and Jur Van der Oord as "European primitive and American classic"); the way it's all ingeniously assembled and juxtaposed and displayed; or the building itself, a late-19th-century textile mill with a square tower that resembles a campanile. Installations is one of those magical repositories of funk and junk, treasures and trash, where you discover beauty (and new uses) in utilitarian glass beakers, baking tins, canning jars, sewing tables, and fuse boxes. Here, it's all art.
Tip: Allow plenty of time for the experience of picking through the vast displays, which could easily take two hours.
