Hudson's Bay Company's Signature Shop

North America's oldest corporation—established in 1670!—Hudson's Bay Company (known locally as just The Bay) has long been known for its iconic, cream-colored wool blankets, boldly striped in yellow, red, navy, and green. The amazingly warm and nonitchy blankets are still sold today in the “Signature Shop” zone on the sixth floor of this downtown department store, which opened in 1914. Plenty of other goods are available in the same pattern, including pillows, scarves, umbrellas, and even ottomans.

Insider Tip: Buy your blanket soon. The Bay was recently purchased by an American conglomerate, and many Canadians are concerned that their favorite items won't be carried for much longer.
