During World War II, a Red Cross volunteer gave David Hostetler something to draw with while he was recovering from a wound. From that beginning came a sculpting career that continues into the artist’s 80's. Hostetler’s background includes agricultural training and work as a salesman, but art is clearly his passion. Known for his graceful wooden depictions of the female form (in woods like elm and white oak,) he and his wife spend the summers in Nantucket and winters in Ohio, so shoppers come in the warm months for a chance to meet the artist.
