G.O.D.

Print
48 Hollywood Road , Central
Hong Kong
852-2805-1876

The acronym stands for Goods of Desire—and if you like cool, modern housewares and textiles, it's 100 percent accurate. The furniture, light fixtures, linens, and tablewares here are highly Ikea-ish—only with a strong local twist. Tote bags, cushions, and even boxer shorts, for example, are printed with photographic Hong Kong street scenes. Non-locals may find G.O.D.'s signature T-shirts and bags, emblazoned with the slogan “Delay No More,” a bit baffling—but it's an inside joke: the phrase is a loose translation of the supremely insulting and unprintable Cantonese term diu lai lo mo. There are two other G.O.D. branches in Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui.
