Located in downtown St. Helena, this shoe store specializes in high-quality, handmade ballet flats. Though owner Jan Niemi designed the shop's 200-plus variations of the shoe, she has them hand-produced in Tuscany, where she spends six months of the year. Large picture windows admit plenty of natural light into the store, which is furnished with blocky wood furniture and shallow white alcoves with display shelves. In addition to the leather and suede flats, available in colors like black, teal, and yellow, the shop also stocks a limited selection of imported clothing and accessories, such as Italian jewelry and tunic tops.
