Located in Belmont, this cheese and sandwich shop has been a neighborhood institution for decades. Though the shop itself is small, the line outside is quite the opposite, often snaking around the block on the weekends. Inside, cured meats hang from the rafters, deli slicers hum in the background, and balls of homemade mozzarella—the store’s specialty—are sold to the waiting crowds. The menu also includes a number of other cheeses, such as ricotta and Parmigiano-Reggiano, as well as a variety of imported pastas, vegetables, and sauces.
