Now a local institution, this family-owned fishmonger shop was originally founded by Master Mariner Captain Roy Wilfred Marden in 1945. Today, the store also includes an adjacent restaurant called the Captain’s Table & Takeaway. In the shop area, a wide variety of fish, shrimp, mussels, and other seafood items are displayed on beds of ice inside glass cases. In addition to the fresh seafood, the store also sells prepared dishes like lobster croquettes and salmon cakes. Next door in the no-frills restaurant, the menu includes fish-and-chips, homemade chowder, and even breakfast dishes such as the salmon and peppers omelette.
