Callahan’s General Store is a throwback to a time when shopping options were more limited for Texans. Its offerings include just about anything a rancher — or a bemused hipster from the city — could want, including felt hats, belt buckles, antique kitchen appliances, bolt cutters, animal feed, and chickens. Callahan’s often hosts music performers and occasionally has Clydesdales in the parking lot in front. The store is located near Austin Bergstrom International Airport, a 20-minute drive from downtown.
