Far more than a sweet shop, this chocolate boutique just a couple blocks away from Powell’s City of Books serves saucers of warm “drinking chocolate” made from melted, epicurean-quality solid chocolate. (It’s available in three varieties, but the cinnamon-tinged version provides the most rewarding sip.) There’s also a counter where you can peruse delicate handmade chocolates in unexpected flavors (our picks: olive-oil-infused chocolate truffles, and caramels topped with smoked sea salt), and shelves full of imported chocolate from all over the world.
