Berkeley Farmers' Market
Started in 1987, the Berkeley farmers' market has since grown into three year-round markets in three neighborhoods. Live musicians, food stands, and special events like foraging workshops make for a festive atmosphere, while vendors sell everything from roasted nuts and homemade preserves to olive oil and organic vegetables. Try the java from Blue Bottle Coffee and fresh baked goods from Phoenix Pastificio. On Saturdays, the busiest market sets up on a block of Center Street downtown. There’s also a South Berkeley market on Tuesdays, and an all-organic North Berkeley market on Thursdays. All run rain or shine.
