Once the sommelier at The French Laundry, owner Daniel Dawson now brings his expertise to Back Room Wines. The shop nearly doubled in size when it relocated to its current storefront in 2008. Wood floors, gray walls, and wine-related artwork create the décor, and wine and spirits are separated into two sections: California and imports. A bar at the back allows guests a place to purchase and enjoy bottles simultaneously, and it serves a large selection of cheeses and olives. International-themed tastings take place each Friday, and customers can join different wine clubs varying in price, quantity, and style.
