A black awning and sidewalk tables greet visitors to Sarah Hart’s Spanish-inspired chocolate shop, promising “(mostly) sin free chocolate.” Alma is both "soul" in Spanish and refers to Hart’s grandmother, who taught her to bake. The interior boasts canary yellow walls, paper globe lanterns, and a blackboard menu. Alma’s signature chocolates are religious figures like the Virgin Mary, Buddha, and Ganesha crafted from dark chocolate and coated in 23-karat gold leaf. Less holy offerings include bon bons, barks, toffees, and caramels. Chocolate is also available in liquid form or blended with Spella Caffe's espresso.
