Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas
Housed in a 19th-century palace, the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas (National Museum of Decorative Arts) is located within the bank of museums northwest of the Buen Retiro Park. The five-story building has more than 60 display rooms filled with 15,000 works of art, which range from Sèvres porcelain and antique fans to 19th-century dollhouses and glasswork from the royal factory in La Granja. Especially noteworthy is the 18th-century kitchen relocated from a Valencian palace; the room is decorated with more than 1,600 hand-painted tiles depicting domestic scenes, such as servants baking pies and the household cat sneaking a fish.
