Part of the year-round Granby Ranch mountain community, SolVista Basin is one of Colorado’s most affordable and family-friendly ski areas. The two mountains—each with a vertical drop of approximately 1,000 feet—have a total of 37 trails, 80 percent of which cater to beginner or intermediate-level skiers. In addition, the resort provides professional ski instruction, slope-side lodging, and a variety of family-oriented programs, such as night skiing and tubing, movies, live music, and an annual children’s festival. At the base of the mountains, a deck with a fire pit provides great views of the action on the slopes.
