Museo Lázaro Galdiano

122 Calle Serrano
Madrid , Spain http://www.flg.es/

Located off the typical tourist route in Salamanca, the little-known Museo Lázaro Galdiano displays more than 12,000 works of art formerly owned by the eponymous Spanish collector José Lázaro Galdiano. Originally established in 1951, the museum is housed in an early-20th-century Neoclassical palace that was completely renovated in 2004. Inside, 37 rooms contain art and artifacts ranging from medieval armor and ancient Italian bronzes to Valencian glasswork and 16th-century Limoges crystal. Paintings include pieces by El Greco, Hieronymus Bosch, Francisco de Zurbarán, and Diego Velázquez. One room is devoted entirely to works by Francisco de Goya.
