Mozart lived in the grand rooms of this Vienna apartment longer than any other place, from 1784 to 1787. The composer's former residence is the last one remaining in Vienna today. Built near St. Stephan's cathedral in the 17th century, the building originally comprised 1,000 square meters with four large rooms, two smaller rooms, and a kitchen. Mozarthaus was opened to the public in 1941 and, since being renovated in 2004, the facility houses four levels of exhibition space. Tours provide guests with detailed information regarding Mozart's life and achievements. Some of his most notable works were composed from this address, such as The Marriage of Figaro.
