PaceWildenstein
The venerable Pace Galleries opened its Chelsea location in order to reach younger, critically-acclaimed artists. The converted garage has more than 5,000 square feet of space, which has proven useful for the presentation of large-scale works, such as Tara Donovan's bio-organic installation of mylar or the multi-hued twists of John Chamberlain's sculptures. The Pace Gallery also exhibits paintings and videos. Recent exhibitions have included Agnes Martin's The '80s: Grey Paintings, the political video art of Michal Rovner, and paintings from abstract expressionist Willem de Kooning's estate.
