Founder Jean-Noel Formeaux du Sartel affectionately named this winery after his family’s 900-year-old castle in France, although the tasting room and surrounding estate don’t bear much of a resemblance. Located on Mount Veeder, the winery consists of a secluded cabin in the woods, surrounded by large trees, a grassy front yard, and a simple white fence, as well as the actual vineyards, which cover a slope at an elevation of 1,800 feet. After a hike among the vines, visitors are led to a knoll where wines are paired with a pre-selected lunch prepared by local chefs.
