Center for Puppetry Arts
Located in Atlanta's vibrant Midtown district, the Center for Puppetry Arts has been offering family-friendly puppetry programs since 1978. While the Jim Henson exhibit, which contains some of the master's original puppets, is the primary draw for many visitors, there are also regular shows. Performances like the Ugly Duckling and the Story of Frog Belly Rat Bone are always big hits with kids, as are workshops focusing on subjects like puppet creation and learning about puppetry in other cultures. The Center doesn't leave those over 18 out in the cold: shows for adults, usually hosted in the evenings, feature cash bars and plenty of grown-up humor.
