Kit Carson Park
Set in a verdant valley, this public park is named after the scout who assisted Captain John C. Frémont during the government exploring expeditions of the 1840’s. Today, the park has nearly 100 acres developed for public use, as well as another 185 acres preserved as a natural habitat. In addition to three ponds, the property includes scenic hiking trails, shaded picnic areas, and sports facilities ranging from soccer fields to a disc golf course. The park is also home to Queen Califia’s Magical Circle, a colorful sculpture garden created by renowned French artist Niki de Saint Phalle.
Congratulations to Mei Lin, winner of Top Chef Season 12.
