Wally's Café

Established in 1947, Wally Walcott's live-jazz bar hosts up-and-coming performers (many of them students at the nearby Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory) 365 nights a year. An enthusiastic crowd fills the cramped no-frills space to hear emerging jazz trios, blues bands, and funk and Latin ensembles; occasionally, superstars (read: Wynton Marsalis) who happen to be in town join them for a set. Best of all, there's never a cover.
