The City Bar
This clubby, sophisticated hotel bar is a singles hot spot—and Boston's best place to sample artisanal cocktails. Chef and sometime mixologist Robert Fathman created the cocktail menu with what he calls "infusions diaboliques": small-batch whiskeys, tequilas, and rums infused by hand with fresh fruits and spices (he lets figs, cinnamon, and vanilla bean steep in bourbon). Traditionalists can also choose from 40 or so single-malt scotches—best enjoyed while lounging on one of the leather sofas.
