The only real town on the island, this densely packed warren of cobblestoned streets, old sea captain’s houses-turned-inns, and Federal brick buildings (filled with boutiques, galleries, and cafés) sits on the mid-north coast at the entrance to Nantucket Harbor. Summertime crowds and traffic are thick.
