Housed inside two of the city’s historic homes, the Salazar and Zapater houses, as well as an adjacent lot, Ponce History Museum has exhibits on Puerto Rico, Ponce, and all aspects of daily Puerto Rican life, such as ecology, politics, and urban development. Displays are enhanced by a collection that includes more than 3,000 documents, photographs, and artifacts. Permanent exhibits include health and medicine, which covers important events in health like the first kidney transplant, and the panorama hall, which shows the evolution of Ponce's people.
