Georgia Aquarium

225 Baker Street NW , Downtown
Atlanta , Georgia

The world's largest aquarium is one of Atlanta's absolute must-visits. More than 60 different exhibit tanks here hold some eight million gallons of water—and the most incredible variety of sea creatures you'll ever see under one roof. The space is organized into five themed galleries: one, "Cold Water Quest," is populated by animals from low-temperature habitats, such as beluga whales, black-footed penguins, sea otters, and sea lions. Other galleries explore tropical coral reefs, South American rivers, and the Georgia coast—although the real showstopper is "Ocean Voyager," where the giant viewing tank and tunnel are filled with giant stingrays, hammerheads, and whale sharks—the largest fish in the world.

Tip: Buy your tickets online before you arrive to make sure you get in. The Premium Day Pass, the best value, includes admission to all five galleries and the "4D" movie theater.

Open daily.

Admission: Premium Day Pass: $29.50 adults; $25.50 seniors (55 and up); $22 children (3–12).
