The celebration and nurturing of Latin American art is the guiding passion behind this non-profit foundation established in 2002. The "matriarch" of Miami's Latin American arts community, Ella Fontanals offers grants and commissions to established and emerging artists on the cutting edge of Latin American art in Miami. With the goal of rising above stereotypes, her foundation's North Miami CIFO Art Space showcases the works of the collection's commissioned artists. Exhibits also frequently include art from the internationally recognized, privately owned Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection, which includes major Geometric Abstract works from Latin American artists like Jesús Rafael Soto and Segio Camargo.
