Medlock Ames
Located atop Bell Mountain, this 335-acre winery is the creation of two lifelong friends: Christopher Medlock James and Ames Morison. Using solar power and organic farming techniques, the company produces mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, as well as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Franc. The estate itself is closed to the public, but James and Morison also operate a tasting room and bar just outside Healdsburg. Built from the remains of a century-old convenience store, the tasting room serves wine flights with artisan cheeses, while the bar provides handcrafted cocktails made with fresh produce from an on-site garden.
