Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp

Mediums and psychics populate this 57-acre self-titled “spiritualist camp” founded in 1894 to give safe haven to followers of the spiritualist movement. Cassadaga is about 45 minutes north of Orlando, where the state lapses into lazy lakes and Spanish moss, and is steeped in a timeless and—it must be said—spooky Old Florida vibe. Stop in at the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Bookstore and Welcome Center (1112 Stevens St.) for a schedule of free readings, or to make an appointment with one of the dozens of resident mediums.

Tip: The creaky 1928 hotel, across from the bookstore, is said to be haunted.
