Scope Art Fair
Founded by gallerists Alexis Hubshman and Peter Surace, the Scope Art Fair was first held in the Gershwin Hotel in New York back in 1991. In Miami, Scope runs concurrently with Art Basel (late November through early December), and the main pavilion is located in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District. The event promises more than 80 international galleries, and previous exhibitors have included Nina Menocal, who shows contemporary Latin American artists such as Cuban photographer Manuel Piña and landscape artists Eric Pérez from Mexico. Since its inception, Scope Art Fair has been visited by over 250,000 people and sold almost $100 million pieces of contemporary art.
