Originally founded by Korbel Champagne Cellars, this experimental company was eventually sold to brewmaster Vinnie Cilurzo, who moved the operation to downtown Santa Rosa. There, he opened this lively brewpub with a shaded outdoor patio and a dining room decorated with large wooden barrels. Above the bar, a chalkboard menu lists the daily beer options, which might include the flagship Pliny the Elder (a Double IPA), Salvation (a strong dark ale), and Temptation (a sour blonde ale aged in oak Chardonnay barrels). In addition to the popular beer samplers, the pub also serves thin-crust pizzas and made-to-order sandwiches.
