Located in the Garment District, the International Wine Center was founded in 1982 to educate the public on wine. The center offers four levels of progressive courses, beginning with the foundation certificate, an introductory level course, and ending with the diploma in wine spirits, which prepares students to enter master of wine studies. Courses are held in the center’s classrooms on Seventh Avenue and follow the curriculum of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust. Class supplies include Ravenscroft crystal glassware and filtered water, and a number of scholarships are available.
