Washington Wine Academy

Chosen by Food & Wine as one of the nation’s top five wine schools, this nonprofit organization provides 
professional certification courses; introductory wine classes; and a variety of themed classes on topics like French wines, summer wines, and cheese pairings. Accomplished wine critics lead the courses, which take place at the academy’s Education Center in the Bennington apartment complex. The classes last between one and four hours, and include a sampling of at least four wines. In addition to the standard courses, the company also hosts special events ranging from vineyard tours to wine-tasting cruises on the Potomac River.
