This kitschy, retro faux-dive, where a giant model airplane hangs from the antique tin ceiling, is hugely popular with post-college hipsters and others who appreciate excellent vintage cocktails. The booths and bar are always too crowded on weekends, but on weeknights, you can grab a seat, snack on decadent pub grub (blue cheese fries, chipotle grits), and actually be able to hear yourself think. Don't bother with beer here; instead, let one of the bartenders mix you a Sidecar, Old-Fashioned, or Last Word (made with Chartreuse, gin, and lemon juice).
