Behind the unprepossessing facade lies a bizarre array of opulently campy bric-a-brac (Meccano model sets, twinkly mini-carousels, and 3-D paintings) expertly slung together to create a trendy, unique, and expensive cocktail bar that’s both surreal and hipper-than-thou. Painted gold ceilings, chandeliers, glittery walls, vintage chairs, old tables, and weird artifacts carve out the bar’s three sections. (Three antiques dealers own the place.) Quirky but perfectly mixed cocktails include the Ladykiller—Feijoa vodka and Arette Blanco tequila muddled with mint and fresh lime, crowned with a rosé champagne float, and served as a frappé—and the Alchemist, with Pyrat Pistol, Doorleys XO and Foursquare spiced rums fused with pineapple, ginger, orange, and grenadine.
Insider Tip: Slightly pretentious servers and patrons know to call the place “Annex Trois.”
