Petrin Hill's Eiffel Tower
Rising from the summit of 1,043-foot Petrin Hill, this steel-framed monument closely resembles the Eiffel Tower (although it’s one-fifth the size). Constructed in 1891, the 200-foot tower is accessible by foot—a walk up the forested slope takes about 30 minutes—as well as by the funicular that departs from Újezd Street. Once there, a 299-stair climb (or a fee-based elevator ride) leads to indoor and outdoor viewing platforms overlooking the Charles Bridge, river Vltava, Prague Castle, and Snezka, the highest peak in the Czech Republic. Surrounding the tower are manicured gardens, a hall of mirrors, and the Stefanik Observatory.
