Originally built for the new millennium, this mammoth Ferris wheel has 32 dangling pods (each holds 25 people sitting or standing) that gracefully take flight 443 feet above the city. (It’s London’s fourth-tallest structure.) You’ll marvel at unparalleled 360-degree views, and on a clear day, gaze 25 miles into the surrounding countryside (often as far as Windsor Castle). While the ride isn’t cheap, it’s a memorable 30 minutes; and the gentle movement is barely perceptible. Avoid weekends and go in good weather before 11 a.m. or after 3 p.m. for the quietest trip.
